Chinese electric car deliveries Western Europe 2024

BYD delivered the most Chinese brand BEV pure electric passenger cars across Western Europe in August, surpassing SAIC's MG brand for the first time, according to Schmidt Automotive Research's monthly European Electric Car Study data.

However, there were a number of significant anomalies impacting June, July and August, which contributed to this, as described in the report published each month exclusively for our clients.

Meanwhile, XPENG, the only one of the top five Chinese brands delivering BEVs across the region that witnessed a month-on-month increase in volumes in August witnessed its year-to-date volumes surpass NIO by three-to-on.

Full data is included in the monthly study, along with an in-depth feature on the progress of Chinese OEMs in the market each month.

We explain to our subscribers the reason for this and the trajectory going forward.
